QUILTING CLUB GETS GRANT FOR SEWING
The Argus Observer
The Ripper Quilters, based in Payette, is the recent recipient of a grant from the Idaho Episcopal Grant Foundation.
The grant of $12,649 will be used to purchase sewing machines to support the group’s “efforts to produce the highest quality manufacturing for our community’s needs,” according to an email from club administrator Richell Kekelis.
The quilting club operates out of the basement of Payette’s historic St. James Episcopal Church. The quilters’ numerous donations are given to a long list of local organizations, highlighted by ROSE Advocates, Hands of Hope, Love Inc. and the Halfway Veterans Care Home.
